Ann Bishop

Director

Ann Bishop is the Managing Director of Indepen Ltd, a consulting firm based in London. She works with investors, chairman, chief executives, board members and senior executive teams in a range of FTSE 500 companies, government agencies and regulators, helping to develop corporate and business unit strategy and plan the delivery of business restructuring and reorganisation projects. She has extensive experience of financial services, retail and creative businesses as well as infrastructure businesses (energy, water, telecoms and transport) in the UK and overseas.

Before founding Indepen in 1990, Ann worked in the Strategy Group in Deloitte’s management consultancy division. This followed a career in marketing and corporate finance with Natwest Investment Bank and Chase Manhattan and in industrial relations for Overseas Containers Ltd. At Indepen, Ann has worked with private, public and charitable sector organisations.

Ann is a member of the Board of Leeds Metropolitan University, Vice Chair of Opera North, Ambassador for Wellbeing, the charitable arm of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, a member of the Ofwat expert panel and was a Commissioner on the London First Infrastructure Commission (2010-11). She supports a not for profit project in South Yorkshire, aimed at stimulating education and employment in garment design and manufacture.

She has a first class honours degree from Sidney Sussex College Cambridge.
