John Hargreaves

Director
John is an economist with management consultancy and corporate finance experience. His work has included regulatory and corporate strategy and finance and project evaluation in the UK, other countries of the EU, South East Asia and Australia. He has advised government departments, regulatory and competition agencies and numerous investor owned businesses, mainly in the water, energy, communications and transportation sectors.

Most recently, he has been advising energy, telecoms and water infrastructure businesses on their regulatory strategies and working with them to influence the development of the regulatory regimes so that they become more responsive to the economic, environmental and social challenges they are facing.

As well as regulators, he has worked with UK government departments and agencies on areas of public policy including education, health and social housing. Prior to becoming a consultant, he lectured in economics at the University of Manchester and worked in the UK Government Economic Service on extending the methodology for evaluating major transport and infrastructure projects.
